    DWI Roundup: Checkpoint stop leads to man's fifth impaired driving arrest

    A Greenville man faces his fifth arrest for impaired driving after he was stopped at a Pitt County checkpoint, court documents said.

    Lindsay Lamario Allison, 37, of 2207 Sunbury Lane, Greenville, was stopped by the State Highway Patrol about 11:15 p.m. July 1 at a checking station on an unspecified stretch of N.C. 33.

    Court documents said that Allison had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath with "very" red, glassy eyes and slurred speech. His blood alcohol content was .10.

    Allison has prior convictions for impaired driving from incidents on Sept. 11, 2016, July 6, 2014, Feb. 6, 2014 and June 10, 2012.

    Allison's arrest was one of five recorded in Pitt County court documents from June 27- July 1. Those documents in the other four cases contain the following details and allegations:

    Pablo Fabian Castillo, 39, of 102 Chandler Drive, Washington, was stopped by a Pitt County Sheriff's Office deputy about 11:30 p.m. June 27, for driving without insurance on an unspecified stretch of U.S. 264. The State Highway Patrol also responded. Castillo admitted to drinking alcohol and swayed when he stood. He had red, glassy eyes and his blood alcohol content was .19.Matthew Edward Cunningham, 35, of 301 Dell St., Robersonville, was stopped by the State Highway Patrol about 9:40 p.m. June 28 on an unspecified stretch of U.S. 264. Cunningham was driving at a low speed and failed to maintain lane control. He had red, glassy eyes, a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and was unsteady when he walked. An open container of liquor was found in a cup inside his vehicle. His blood alcohol content was .15.Tiffany Yvette Peartree, 48, of 1002 Bancroft Ave., Greenville, was stopped by the State Highway Patrol about 10:04 p.m. June 29 on Pitt Street near Third Street in downtown Greenville. Peartree would speed up and slow down her vehicle and came to a stop at a green light before she made a right turn without a signal. She had slurred speech, a strong odor of alcohol on her breath and red, glassy eyes. A blood test for her blood alcohol content was not available. Peartree has two prior convictions for impaired driving charges from incidents on Feb. 19, 2017, and June 24, 2006. Christian Scott Tew, 23, of 5413 Glorietta Circle, Raleigh, was stopped by Greenville Police at 4:29 a.m. June 29, at the intersection of West Arlington Boulevard and Stantonsburg Road. A reason for the stop was not specified. Tew slurred his speech and had red, glassy eyes with dilated pupils. He was disoriented and refused a blood alcohol test.
