J.H. Rose High School had several national winners at the Future Business Leaders of America National Leadership Conference, the program announced. Rose had 28 students who were among the 16,000 participants from across the world at the competition held in Orlando, Florida.

Jack D’Alonzo and Wright Collins placed in the Top 10 in Life Smarts, a quiz bowl-style competition. Rachel Nelson placed fourth in Future Business Educator, a mock teaching lesson event, and Elliott Flinchbaugh, Carson Fraley, and Katharine Gauland placed eighth in Local Chapter Annual Business Report and Presentation.

Rose also was recognized as the sixth best chapter in the country through the Champion Chapter Program, which recognizes chapters for their work in service, recruitment, leadership development and career exploration.

Students attended the conference to enhance their business skills, expand their networks and participate in more than 80 business, marketing and technology-related competitive events. In addition to the competitions, students attended educational workshops, saw exhibits, and had a chance to hear business speakers address various topics.
