GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — A Greenville man has been arrested for attempted murder on Saturday.

Police responded to a report of a man shot on July 6 around 5 p.m. on Pitt Street. The victim was shot in the leg during a drive-by shooting according to officials.

He was later sent to ECU Health Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The same day, officers stopped a suspected vehicle at the Shell Gas Station on East Tenth Street. After the stop, Trevon Delaney and Dontravion Waller were charged with accessory. Police have reason to believe that they were in the car at the time of the shooting.

This also led to Victor Rivera of Greenville who was the primary suspect. He was arrested on Monday and charged with attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

Rivera is at the Pitt County Detention Center under a $50,000 bond with his first court appearance scheduled for Tuesday.
