    Greenville Tar Heel 9-11-year-old team wins state title

    WILSON, N.C. (WNCT) — The Greenville Tar Heel 9-11-year-old team won the state championship Wednesday in Wilson by beating Lake Norman 8-0.

    The team swept through the state tournament, winning four games and outscoring opponents 38-7. This is the third state title for the program and ninth overall for Greenville Little League.

    Members of the team include: Wyatt Graham, Cayden McNeill, Lawson Massey, Thomas Moye, Graham Tadlock, Akeem Brown, Tripp Dixon, Bruce Tyndall, Thomas D’Alonzo, Brynson Purvis, Mayson James, Bray Willett, Manager Jeremy Willett, Assistant Coach Trey Haddock and Assistant Coach Brooks Dixon.

    The team advances to the Tournament of State Champions in Wilson July 27. There is no world series for this age division and the Tournament of State Champions allows state championship teams to compete at a regional level.
