    Meet the 2024 Dandy Dozen, the Upstate's top college football recruits for Class of 2025

    With the South Carolina high school football season nearing the Aug. 23 kickoffs for Week Zero, here is our annual Dandy Dozen, a collection of the Upstate's top college prospects for the Class of 2025. The list includes three standouts from Class AAAA state champion Westside.

    Players are ranked from No. 12 to No. 1.

    12. Cam Smith, Spartanburg

    Smith is a 5-foot-9, 200-pound middle linebacker who had 122 tackles last season with 23.5 tackles for loss of yards, 10.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and two recovered fumbles. He has led Spartanburg in tackles for the past two seasons.

    11. KD Patterson, T.L. Hanna

    Patterson (5-11, 175) is a running back who rushed for 1,682 yards with 28 touchdowns while leading Hanna to a Region 1-AAAAA championship and a 10-2 record. In the playoffs, a three-point loss to eventual state champ Dutch Fork, Patterson ran for 215 yards and two touchdowns.

    10. Jackson Repp, Christ Church

    Repp (5-8, 165) is a dazzling wide receiver for Class A state champion Christ Church, which moves up to Class AAA this season. Repp has 15 college offers, including Power Four offers from South Carolina and Boston College. He led the state last season with 27 touchdown catches on 63 receptions for 1,510 yards.

    9. Cam Strong, T.L. Hanna

    Strong (6-1, 170) is a defensive back who committed to N.C. State and has seven other offers from Power Four schools. He is a three-star talent and the state’s No. 14 overall player in the senior class, according to the 247Sports Composite. Strong has offers from Michigan State and West Virginia among others.

    8. Chamarryus Bomar, Westside

    Bomar (5-10, 180) is a transfer from Byrnes and is committed to Appalachian State. Bomar will play both wide receiver (36 catches for 442 yards last season) and defensive back (two interceptions). He is the state’s No. 9 overall player in the senior class, according to 247Sports.

    7. Armoni Weaver, Westside

    Weaver (5-10, 170) is another two-way player for Westside and, like Bomar, is a transfer from Byrnes with a commitment to Appalachian State. Weaver is the state’s No. 2 defensive back and No. 8 overall player in the 2025 class, according to 247Sports. He also made 28 catches for 721 yards and six TDs.

    6. Ladainnian Martin, J.L. Mann

    Martin (5-10, 175) is a four-star running back and the state’s No. 5 overall player, according to the 247Sports rankings. He is committed to Georgia State. Martin is a transfer from Greer, where he ran for 1,580 yards (9.3 per carry) and scored 17 touchdowns despite missing time with injury.

    5. Jaquavious Dodd, Eastside

    Dodd (6-5, 255), a South Carolina commit, is a four-star defensive end who is ranked the state’s No. 5 overall player by the 247Sports Composite rankings and one of the top 25 edge rushers in the country. Dodd had 13 sacks last season with 24 tackles for loss and 37 solo tackles.

    4. Marquise Henderson, Belton-Honea Path

    Henderson (5-10, 170) is a four-star running back who committed to Clemson and has half a dozen offers from Power Four schools. Henderson is the state’s No. 3 overall player, according to 247Sports. Last season, he ran for 2,336 yards, 11.1 per carry, and scored 37 touchdowns as Belton-Honea Path went 13-1.

    3. Shedrick Sarratt, Gaffney

    Sarratt (6-4, 300) is a South Carolina commit and considered the top offensive lineman in the state. He is a four-star player who is ranked as the state’s fourth-best overall recruit in the senior class by 247Sports. Sarratt is ranked as a top 30 offensive tackle in the country. He has 10 offers from Power Four schools.

    2. Cutter Woods, Westside

    Woods (6-3, 210), who is committed to South Carolina, led Westside to the Class AAAA state championship last season and threw the game-winning touchdown with 15 seconds left in the 34-32 win against South Florence. He passed for 3,915 yards and 42 touchdowns. Woods has offers from 10 Power Four teams.

    1. Mikkel Skinner, Riverside

    Skinner (6-3, 220) is ranked as the state’s No. 2 overall player in the Class of 2025 by 247Sports and is committed to Cincinnati. He’s a wide receiver who is sometimes listed as a tight end and also plays running back. Skinner had 1,229 yards from scrimmage last season with 15 touchdowns. He has an offer from South Carolina.
