More than 5,000 first-year students moved in this week to Clemson University, with a total of 7,500 students living on campus, according to Clemson University spokesperson Phillips Sikes.

"I just love this place. It's nice to see friends again after summer break," Matthew McCoy of Greenwood said while moving into Clemson University's Douthit Housing.

Clemson reported that 61,556 first-year applications for the Class of 2028 were received, of which 5,000 were accepted. Sikes said total enrollment will be announced later in the fall.

Undergraduate enrollment in 2023 was 22,875, and postgraduate enrollment was 5,872.

Eric Bamberg of Piedmont, who works on the Clemson campus, helped his sons Elias and Josiah move into housing in Clemson.

"It's a task, getting them to move in," he said. "We've done it a few times, but this year they're going to be roommates, so it's easier."

"I'm excited. I'm sure there will be all sorts of stuff to do. I got some friends coming too, so I'm not too concerned about social life," Clemson freshman Truman Bullock of Greenville said.

"It's a good place to go to school," said his mother, Mandy Bullock, who mentioned Truman breaks a tradition of six generations going to Georgia.

Students mostly brought essentials such as clothes, shoes, electronics, and school supplies.

Noah Granados of New Jersey didn't forget the case of ramen noodles when moving into his dormitory at Clemson University. "It's probably going to be my saving grace when I'm hungry in the middle of the night," he said, smiling.
