Upstate high school football Week Zero schedule to kick off 2024 season

In this case, zero means everything.

Week Zero of high school football season is here to kick off the 2024 SCHSL schedule . We’re not sure why it’s still called Week Zero. Originally, it got the zero name because only a handful of teams opened up. However, all but three Upstate teams will be in action this week.

On early bye weeks as they get ready to open Aug. 30 in Week 1 will be Gaffney (at J.L. Mann), Berea (home against Landrum) and Woodmont (home for Seneca).

The rest are scheduled to play at 7:30 p.m. Friday, the exception behind Class AAAA state champion Westside, which will play at home 7 p.m. (approximately) Saturday against Creekside (Ga.), following Mallard Creek (N.C.) vs. Prince Avenue Christian in a Turf King Classic doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.
