LEAD Upstate holds event in Greenville to kickoff 10th year

The kickoff event for a law enforcement appreciation event was held Thursday in Greenville. LEAD Upstate celebrated the launch of the 10th year of their intitiatve at an event at Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

Seabrook Marchant the founder of LEAD Upstate, opened the event talking the formation of the group. He also spoke about the 1st events the group held and how they have changed over the years.

Marchant went on to talk about what motivates officers to protect and serve. Saying "Officers don't do the job for the money, they do it in response to a calling."

The event served as a chance for the group to recognize its sponsors and K-9 officers and their handlers from around Greenville County.
