    2,000 power outages reported in Upstate due to storm

    GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – More than 2,000 people reported power outages in the Upstate Wednesday afternoon.

    Most of the outages were located in the Greenville and Greer area, with 908 reported outages in Greenville and 902 in Greer, according to the Duke Energy Outage map.

    The Berea Fire Department responded to a call at 3:20 p.m. of a fallen tree that took down a power line. The incident occurred on Cedar Lane Road in Greenville County. Firefighters said The tree likely fell from wind during Wednesday’s afternoon storm.

    According to Duke Energy, power will likely be restored early Thursday morning for the Berea neighborhood.
