Trash Bash In Port Huron Is A Unique Community Cleanup And Festival
On July 20th, starting at 11 a.m., Port Huron residents are invited to join a community cleanup day, beginning at the Charles A. Hammond American Legion Post 8. Participants will spend the day filling bags with litter, and those who bring filled bags to the evening event will be entered into a raffle for prizes.

Brock Rothermel will wrestle for a national title tonight after another victory over a state champion at the U.S. Marine Corps Junior Nationals 2024 in Fargo, N.D. Rothermel, a third-place finisher at the PIAA Championships as a freshman last winter, raced out to a 6-0 lead on two-time Minnesota state champion Blake Beissel and held off a second-period run to win 6-4, advancing to the title bout at 120 pounds. Under the sparkling azure waters of the St. Clair River, lies the history of the Port Huron area. Marko Tomko is a diver of 39 years and has explored the river 750 times. He began diving in 1985 when he and his wife went to a Club Med resort in the Bahamas, and he obtained a basic dive certification. Captivated by his experience, he returned to Michigan and received his Open Water Certification. He was drawn to the Sea Snoopers Diving Club, comprised of divers throughout southeast Michigan, and cultivated friendships and dive buddies to explore the Great Lakes.

Three Richmond Township Board seats contested in primary
Races for three seats on the Richmond Township Board of Trustees are contested in the Aug. 6 primary election. Incumbent Republican Supervisor Christopher DeVos is seeking another four-year term against Republican challenger Cindi Greenia, who currently serves as township treasurer.
