DENVER, Colorado – Two dozen teams were awarded championships at the National Cup XXIII Finals, held at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in Denver, Colorado, July 18-25. Boys teams played July 18-22, while the girls teams competed July 21-25. The National Cup is US Club Soccer’s longest-running competition, celebrating its 23rd edition this summer. The Finals is the culminating event of a cup-based championship series that includes qualifying state cups and National Cup Regionals. More than 8,000 teams competed in this year’s series, including 240 U-13 through U-19 boys and girls teams at the National Cup Finals. The tournament field, which included teams from 22 states, provided a developmentally stimulating environment with geographical diversity, contrasting styles and championship pressure. Winning teams endured three group stage games, before advancing to semifinal and final rounds.
