Little Rock (KATV) — A new report finds gun thefts from cars make up the single largest source of stolen guns in America, fueling violent crime and putting lives at risk. It's happening here in Arkansas, too, where firearms are a way of life for many - popular for shooting, for sport, and for self-defense - and the victims are often responsible gun owners.
2 accused in residential theft, vehicle break-in

Thirty-nine-year-old Jessica Adams of Mount Pleasant and 44-year-old Shae George of Heber Springs are in the Izard County Detention Center.
Harding University offers 20% tuition discount to military families for online programs
LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — Harding University has announced that they are offering a new discounted tuition for veteran and active-duty military families. Retired, active duty, national guard, reserve forces, and their spouses will receive a 20 percent discount for its all-online Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership (MAOL) and Executive and Workplace Coaching graduate certificate courses.

West Markham in Little Rock to Get a ‘Road Diet’
A section of West Markham Street is set to be reworked from Cedar Street to Pearl Avenue, including a “road diet.” The term describes the process of reconfiguring multi-lane roads back down to two lanes with a center turning lane and sometimes bike lanes to improve safety for drivers, bike riders and pedestrians.
U.S. News Names UAMS a Best Medical School for Primary Care, Rural Practice
July 23, 2024 | LITTLE ROCK — The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) continues to climb U.S. News & World Report’s list of Best Medical Schools. The magazine’s annual ranking of medical and osteopathic schools across the country was released today, showing that for 2024, UAMS ranked fourth nationally for graduates going into primary care, ninth for the most graduates practicing in health professional shortage areas and 11th nationally for graduates practicing in rural areas.
