Lincoln Firefighters Rescue Two Cats from Thursday Afternoon House Fire
Two cats were safely rescued after a south Lincoln house fire, Thursday afternoon. The blaze broke out after an outdoor air conditioning unit malfunctioned at a home near South 32nd and “D” Street. LFR spokeswoman MJ Lierman said crews responded to the fire around 2 p.m. and had water on the fire within 5 minutes of arriving.

Panhandle man arrested after shots fired
On Wednesday, July 25, at 6:37 a.m., law enforcement responded to a call at a rural residence approximately one mile east of Mitchell NE. The reporting party, a female at home with her children, reported that a male was knocking at her back door, that he had a handgun, that he might be on drugs, and she thought he was trying to get into the house. She then reported hearing multiple shots fired, although none were fired into the house. A Scotts Bluff County Deputy was first to arrive on scene. He located the male nearby and took him into custody without incident. The male had a handgun in his possession but did not threaten the Deputy with it.
Deputies accuse two men of multiple thefts in northeast Nebraska
MADISON COUNTY, Neb. (KOLN) - The Madison County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men on July 19 on suspicion of multiple thefts. On May 31, a man reported a generator stolen from his business in Newman Grove. According to the sheriff’s office, the generator was recovered after another man traded his plasma cutter to 25-year-old Alexander Robak for the generator. It was later discovered that the generator had been stolen, and the second man returned the generator to its owner.
