A third teen has died after a stay in the hospital following a late June crash in which a stolen car attempted to flee Gresham Police.

Cole Johnson, 18, died at a hospital Monday, July 8, as a result of injuries sustained in the June 25 crash at Southeast 139th Avenue and Southeast Division Street. The other two victims of the crash were also teenagers: 16-year-old Dylan M. Brasky and 16-year-old Jayden M. Rolon-Ekis.

During the investigation, police learned Rolon-Ekis was the driver, while Brasky and Johnson were passengers.

At 12:14 a.m. Gresham officers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle, later known to be occupied by the three teen boys, in the area of Southeast 159th Avenue and Southeast Division Street. The vehicle did not stop for police and eluded them.

Minutes later, Gresham police found the vehicle crashed near the intersection of Southeast 139th Avenue and Southeast Division Street. Portland police officers from the East Precinct responded to assist.

The crash also injured an adult woman driving another car, and a power pole was knocked down, cutting electricity in the area. Both Brasky and Rolon-Ekis died at the scene.

All of the families of the boys were notified of the crash and deaths.
