August 24, 1938 to July 11, 2024 - Donna Jean Roberts passed peacefully away on July 11, 2024. She was surrounded by her loving husband and family.

Donna Roberts was born on August 24, 1938, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to Roy and Virginia Myers. She was the oldest of six siblings, including Janice, Carolyn, James, Judith, and William. Donna married the love of her life, Don, on September 14, 1961. They were married for 62 years. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

After graduating from high school, Donna attended Grace Bible College, and then went on to Emmanuel School of Nursing in Omaha, Nebraska, where she graduated with a degree in Nursing. After moving to Sacramento, California, she worked as a Charge Nurse in the Emergency Room at Roseville General Hospital, California. In Portland, Oregon, she worked at the Portland Justice Center, East County Health Center, and taught the CNA course at Mt. Hood Community College, in Gresham, Oregon, for 32 years.

Donna loved Jesus, and, along with her husband Don, were active at Good Shepherd Community Church where Donna played piano for the Prime Movers Group and volunteered at a local nursing home, playing piano for the residents. Donna had many hobbies, including caring for her roses, quilting, traveling, and hosting family celebrations. Donna also loved to travel. She and Don traveled across the country in their motorhome visiting family and friends.

She cherished her family dearly, spending many hours with her grandchildren.

Donna is survived by her husband Donald Roberts, her three daughters, Sandra (Dan), Jennifer (Michael), and Tiffany (Keith), nine grandchildren, and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Virginia Myers, her sisters and brothers.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we take solace in the knowledge that Donna is now in the loving arms of her Savior, at peace, and free from pain. Her spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched, and her memory will forever be a blessing to all who knew her. "Well done, good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:23.

Donna's funeral will be held Monday, July 22, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon, with a viewing from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Samaritan's Purse (samaritanspurse.org) or to Union Gospel Mission (ugmportland.org).
