2 arrested following armed robbery at Gresham Skate Park

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — Two people are in custody following an armed robbery in Gresham, authorities said.

According to Gresham police, officers responded to Gresham Skate Park Thursday night following reports of a robbery at gunpoint.

Callers reported three suspects at the scene and officials said several victims fled trying to get away from them.

Gresham police, along with drone and K9 support, as well as Multnomah County deputies and a Portland police airplane responded to the call.

While attempting to find the victims, officers said they got a call from an area resident saying they saw three people who matched the description of the suspects.

Officers attempted to stop the suspects, but officials said they fled. One was quickly found and a discarded gun was also found nearby.

A second suspect was found hiding in a backyard and when police attempted to contact him they said he fled again, leaving behind a gun that was found later.

The second suspect was eventually arrested after he attempted to hide in another backyard, authorities said.

The robbery is still under investigation and authorities are asking anyone with information to contact police.
