A local fundraising event, hosted by a beloved Downtown Gresham restaurant, was a smash hit — raising critical dollars for a nonprofit organization dedicated to feeding the hungry.

SnowCap Community Charities raised $1,500 during a raffle fundraiser hosted Thursday, July 25, at Spinella’s, 436 N. Main Ave. The gathering had plenty of great prizes, like a cutting board and cocktail smoker, as well as gift cards to local restaurants. The evening also had a live show from musician Letty Isabel, who is a mainstay performer across East Multnomah County.

All of that money supported SnowCap’s ongoing mission. It is the largest nonprofit food pantry in the state and feeds people from Gresham, East Portland, Troutdale, Fairview and Wood Village.

The pantry is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday and Wednesday at 17805 S.E. Stark St. Learn more at snowcap.org
