One of the members of the 2024 Wyoming Coaches Association Hall of Fame is David Trembly of Dubois. He was the long-time head football coach for the Rams and started at that school way back in 1998. Trembly led the Rams to the playoffs 15 times in his career including a State Championship and undefeated season in 2012. His 6-man football teams made the semi-final round of the playoffs for 3 straight years from 2021-2023.

Fire danger rises as Casper area remains hot, dry through Thursday
CASPER, Wyo. — A fire weather watch will go into effect on Thursday as Natrona County continues to see very high temperatures and dry conditions. According to the National Weather Service in Riverton, the watch goes into effect from Thursday morning through Thursday evening, with fire conditions exacerbated by potentially gusty afternoon winds and near-record high temperatures in parts of Natrona and Johnson counties.

Last year, Cole Reiner checked off a big item on his bucket list by tying for the win at the “Daddy of ‘em All.” That helped the Buffalo, Wyoming, resident qualify for his fourth Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR), where he finished the season in seventh place. Reiner is currently 15th in the world and hopes that CFD will make a difference in his 2024 season again. Today, a highlight will occur at Frontier Park when he competes in the bareback riding and watches his younger brother, Clay, in the steer wrestling.

Powell hosts the 2024 Wyoming American Legion Baseball Class ‘A’ State Tournament from July 27-31. It is an eight-team, modified, double-elimination bracket. The Powell Pioneers are the defending Class A State Champions. It was their first championship since 2010. Six of the eight teams were in last year’s field. Over the last two months, Wyoming lawmakers on the Travel, Recreation, Wildlife and Cultural Resource interim committee have been hearing from the snowmobiling world. Two main takeaways: Wyoming is world renowned for the sport and is seeing more users every year. But, the upkeep of trails along with inflation is putting the state trails program in the hole – to the tune of about half a million dollars a year.
