Local Trader Joe's Moving to New Location, Doubling Its Size

Trader Joe’s is a staple around greater Phoenix. While it might not have the sheer volume of other grocery stores in the area, some of what the store offers can’t be found anywhere else, and, if you know what you’re looking for, you can often score a great deal for a solid product. The only problem is, that some of the Trader Joe’s locations around the Valley are too small to meet the demand. Combined with poor parking lot designs it can be enough to send you packing to a local Walmart or Safeway. That is going to change for one local Trader Joe’s, as one is planning an upcoming move to a new location, which will greatly enhance its total footprint. 

If you live in Glendale and are a fan of the grocery store chain, chances are you’ve stopped off more than a few times at the Trader Joe’s inside the Arrowhead Towne Center. Located at 7720 West Bell Road in Glendale, it’s a fine location but an overcrowded one. The Trader Joe’s itself is on the small side and the parking situation is, frankly, a nightmare. Square footage-wise, it isn’t all that much bigger than neighboring The Vitamin Shoppe, and the entire curved road around the mall is so convoluted it makes getting in and out of Trader Joe’s a nightmare. 

All of that will change soon, as Trader Joe’s is planning a move to a much larger location. The current location, which is at the intersection of 75th and Bell, will jump across the street and take over the space formerly occupied by Salt Creek Home Furniture. You can see the new location from the front of the current location, so it won’t take much to recalibrate your shopping drive. 

The new location of 8078 West Bell Road is roughly twice the size of the current location. This will make it far easier to find what you need and expand what the grocery store offers. Additionally, because you won’t have as much of the Towne Center traffic to deal with it should alleviate some of the issues with getting in and out of the store. 

There is no word yet as to when the move will happen. However, there are no plans to close the current location. At least until the new address is up and running. So, if you’re a Glendale Trader Joe’s shopper, this should come across as excellent news.
