Slim Chickens Fried Chicken Restaurant Has Opened in Glendale

Just when you thought the influx of chicken sandwich restaurants was over, another decides to open. Until a few years ago, it was slim pickings trying to track down a chicken sandwich. There were one or two national chains in metro Phoenix, and then you could go to a burger restaurant that happened to offer a chicken sandwich. However, other than that, you didn’t have many other options. Flash forward to today and it’s almost as easy to find a fried chicken sandwich as it is a taco in the Valley. And now, there’s another restaurant opening up in Glendale.

In truth, Slim Chickens is a bit more than a fast-food fried chicken sandwich restaurant. There are more options than a few sandwiches here. You can find wraps, salads, loaded fries, and, yes, sandwiches. You can go as healthy and as deep-fried as you’d like, so there’s a bit of something for everyone at Slim Chickens (just as long as everyone likes chicken).

The very first Slim Chickens opened in Fayetteville, Arkansas back in 2003. In the 21 years since launching, there are now over 200 restaurants scattered around the globe, most of which are in the United States, but you can find a handful in the UK and Kuwait.

As for the new addition to the Valley, Slim Chickens opened its second Glendale location at 3630 West Happy Valley Road. It is open seven days a week from 10 AM until 10 PM.

If you have yet to visit one of the other metro Phoenix restaurants, there are several combo meals and menu items to choose from. The Cick’s Meal features three chicken tenders with Texas toast, a side of your choice, and dipping sauce. You can then increase the number of wings from there. Wing Meals are similar, except you swap out chicken tenders for chicken wings. A chicken Club Sandwich Meal includes fried chicken breast with crispy bacon, Monterey jack cheese, tomato, lettuce, and sauce, and is paired with fries. Other sandwiches include the Cayenne Ranch Chicken Sandwich, Crispy Chicken Sandwich, plus the Slims Wraps

Swap out finger food for a fork and dive into one of the Tender Mac Bowls. The Buffalo Mac & Cheese Bowl Meal is a popular option, which features a three-cheese mac & cheese blend, paired with Texas Toast. If you want to go with a classic Southern dish, Chicken & Waffles is also on the menu.
