Taco Restaurant That Closed Weeks Earlier Has Returned In New Location

What goes around comes around in the restaurant industry. Sometimes where one pizza restaurant closes another opens. Just recently a BBQ restaurant officially launched where a previous BBQ restaurant shuttered. There’s a circle of life in the food and drink industry. At times it is one business opening where another failed, and yet at other times it’s the same restaurant closing in one location, only to move to another. That is exactly what happened for one popular taco spot in metro Phoenix.

Only a few weeks ago, Tacos & Craft closed up its Tempe restaurant. However, it has emerged again at 9340 West Northern Avenue (Suite 105) in Peoria. This is one of the more confusing restaurant moves, at least in terms of marketing. The Tacos & Craft Facebook page is still up and running as it continues to advertise the Tempe location. Even the Tempe address remains. The page seems to be managed by an outside business, as photos and posts continue to go up, and they are not responding to customers questioning the closure of the Tempe restaurant.

At this time, even the website does not work, so if you want to visit the Peoria location, there aren’t any visual representations of the restaurant in existence online at the moment. Hopefully this issue will be rectified (it does take a lot of effort to move a restaurant across the Valley), as it is difficult to stay on top of a restaurant when they have zero online presence.

The menu does appear to be exactly the same as the original Tempe location, so if you were a fan of the tacos or vast array of drinks served at the previous restaurant you are in luck.

While there was little word given as to why the original Tempe restaurant closed, due to its move to Peoria, there’s a good chance it had something to do with the continued surge of rental prices in Tempe. While prices are increasing across the Valley, Tempe continues to see faster increases than other areas in the metro area. For a restaurant looking to survive and grow, Peoria is a fine destination. While it might mean fans of the original will need to drive a bit further, it is good news for residents looking for a new taco spot with homemade salsas and an eclectic array of cocktails.

If you want to swing by the now open Peoria restaurant, it is open 11 AM until 9 PM seven days a week.

We ate at the original once. It was nice but not drive across town worthy. If you live close by, give it a try.
