Eegee's Announces Pickle-Flavored Eegee, Coming Soon For a Limited Time

From time to time, April Fools jokes become a reality. Sometimes what was seen as a joke receives so much praise and generates enough excitement that a business decides to move ahead with it. That is exactly what is happening at your local eegee’s, as the local favorite here in Tucson is releasing an extremely limited edition frozen eegee that, until this coming weekend, had been nothing but a joke.

Earlier in the year, eegee’s posted the creation of a pickle-flavored eegee. It was done as an April Fools joke on its social media platforms. On the fake post, eegee’s announced it was releasing a “much requested” pickle flavor. However, while the post, and the flavor, were nothing more than a simple joke, most subscribers to the restaurant’s social media pages stated they wished it wasn’t a joke, and that they would love to try such a flavor. This coming weekend, that flavor will become a reality.

According to a newly posted update on the company’s Instagram profile, you will have the ability to stop in to a local eegee’s and order a pickle-flavored eegee. This will be an extremely limited run, beginning on July 26 and ending on July 31. It appears all restaurants are participating, so whether you are in Tucson, or you are near one of the few locations around greater Phoenix, you will be able to order this much-requested flavor.

The pickle eegee will be available in two options. The first is a straight-up frozen pickle drink, no different than any of the other flavors served. The other option is to add Tajin and chamoy over top in order to give it that spicy kick. It’s about as close to a spicy bloody marry mix as you will get in an eegee.

In less than 12 hours, the Instagram post became the most-liked post on eegee’s platform, generating nearly 2,300 likes and over 100 comments. Those numbers will only continue to grow.

Based on the overwhelming popularity of the announcement, it is a good idea to stop by your local eegee’s restaurant as early as you can, as there’s no telling if the flavor will last through the end of the month. With this kind of support for the drink, it is possible eegee’s might think twice about having it as a limited run and may decide to bring it back
