Fast Casual Southern Comfort Restaurant Coming to Tucson

When it comes to food that makes you feel good, few cuisines can touch that of Southern comfort food. There’s just something about the combination of protein, carbs, and fats that come together and make you feel right at home. Sure, it might not always be best for the waistline, but when you want to put a smile on your face and relax after a long day, comfort food will always be there. However, around Tucson, there isn’t exactly a breadth of Southern cuisine destinations. Outside of the fried chicken restaurants, Southern comfort food is one area that has been lacking. So, it is good news that a new fast-casual Southern comfort food restaurant is opening in the coming weeks. 

Hammbone’s Meat and Three recently signed a lease to open a new restaurant at 2027 South Craycroft Road. The brand, which does have a few other locations in California, focuses on creating a daily menu that is also ready to go when you’re ready to eat. The fast-casual setup of the restaurant will allow you to place your order, without being forced to wait too long for your meal. This way, whether you want to eat inside the restaurant or you’d rather take it with you and share the spread with family back home, both will be viable options. 

The comfort food selection has different goodies that include slow-cooked pork ribs, farmhouse pot roast, crispy garlic potato wedges, plus a house meatloaf. Some of the menu choices will rotate throughout the week, such as the bread. Bread on different days will include cornbread muffins, buttermilk biscuits, and dinner rolls.

If you’re feeling more like a burger and fry combo, there are plenty of burger options, both for traditional burger fans and those in the mood for something a little different. Classic burgers include the Fatboy, Classic Smash, Beef Burger, Bacon Burger, and the Burger Nine. Alternatives to beef include the Chicken Burger, as well as the Quinoa and Black Bean Burger. French fry and side options include Potato Wedges and BN Famous Fries.

The menu on the Hammbone’s Meat and Three website still appears to be in the works, so there likely will be some alterations to it in the coming days. The restaurant itself does not have a specific opening date yet selected, although with the lease signed the restaurant does hope to have its doors opened to the public sometime in September.
