Affordable Steak Restaurant Opening In Place of Abandoned Car Wash

The majority of restaurant chains around the United States have struggled over the last several years. Major brands have folded, filed for bankruptcy, or seen massive restructuring. Even chains like McDonald’s have seen sales numbers fall, as consumers turn their back on overpriced products that are far outpacing inflation. This has continued throughout metro Phoenix as well. However, one particular brand has bucked the trend and, instead of shrinking in size, continues to expand. And now, it is looking to add another location in Mesa in the former space of a defunct car wash.

Angie’s Prime Grill and the rest of Angie’s restaurant locations have surged in popularity around the Valley, as the various brands continue to thrive as each offers customers a quality meal at an affordable price. While Angie’s Lobster was the first name to launch, offering customers the ability to purchase lobster rolls and other sandwiches at a low price point, Angie’s Prime Grill has followed. All of the restaurants have spiraled outward from Phoenix, moving into neighboring metro areas like Tucson and even Las Vegas.

However, growth continues in the Phoenix metro area, as the brand looks to move into a formerly shuttered carwash at 1118 West Guadalupe Road. The old self-service car wash would all be torn down, as the drive-through washing stations would be removed and the majority of the office area would be razed to construct Angie’s Prime Grill.

If you have driven past the Guadalupe Road location you know how much of an eye sore the property is. So, the addition of a new restaurant would, at the very least, help improve the look of the address. It would also bring another affordable eating option to the community as well.

The concept of Angie’s Prime Grill (as well as the other Angie’s restaurants) is to do away with as much overhead as possible. This includes being a drive-through-only restaurant, offering a small, focused menu, and not including unnecessary paper products, like receipts.

Now, the price point of the Angie’s restaurants has increased somewhat since launching. While offering an affordable meal, it isn’t immune to inflation. However, a steak meal costs $10.79, while a chicken meal is $7.79 and a shrimp meal is $11.99

When ordering, you select one of the three meat options, order it as a bowl, salad, or burrito, and then select the style you wish it to be made (Mexican, BBQ, Greek, Cobb, etc.). Everything is prepared on the spot for you.

The Mesa City Council is currently considering the proposed project, though that will likely be approved in the coming days.

Had Angie's Lobster 🦞 and it was good, but I live in Buckeye so it's a little far for me to go.
