FireTruck Brewing Company Location Suddenly Closes

The craft beer industry had a solid moment, from the early 2000s until just before the pandemic. You could blink and a new brewery would pop up on a new street corner, and Total Wine or Fry’s shelves were quickly transformed to showcase dozens, if not hundreds, of ever-changing brews. However, many within the industry also knew the rapid expansion would never last. Contraction started just before 2020, and it continues. The fact was that the market simply couldn’t handle so many breweries constantly putting out a new beverage every few months just to stay relevant. That has led to several closures around greater Tucson. And now, another once-promising location has closed its doors for the last time.

FireTruck Brewing Company has had a rough go at it this year. At the beginning of the spring, the brewing company shuttered its location on Tangue Verde Road, and the short-lived FireTrick Pizza Company location at 800 North Kob Road also shut down. And now, its Oro Valley location of 9630 North Oracle Road (Suite 110) is no more.

The North Oracle Road location closing came as a bit of a shock. Or, at the very least, it came suddenly to the staff. The location was regularly posting on Facebook up until August 10 (and was looking for new employees on July 30), without any word of its closing. In fact, FireTruck didn’t make any formal announcements on social about closing the location. In a way, it turned off the lights and hoped nobody would notice.

This leaves the original FireTruck Brewing Company location as the lone location in Tucson. So, if you’d like to grab a pint to wash down a plate full of wings or other goodies, you can do so at 4746 East Grand Road. While closed on Monday it is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11 AM until 9 PM, on Friday and Saturday from 11 AM until 10 PM, and on Sunday from 11 AM until 8 PM.

The beer scene very quickly became oversaturated. This wasn’t unique to Tucson though. It happened all over. While there are the mainstay breweries that have been around for decades and continue to do well (especially those that remained independent and weren’t bought up by Budweiser’s parent company InBev), new breweries, or in this case newer locations, have started to shutter all over the country. Sometimes there can just be too many options.
