When you want Mexican food and you want it now, there’s nothing better than a restaurant with a drive-through window. Outside of Taco Bell and a few late-night spots, drive-through options aren’t all that popular in the world of Mexican cuisine, which is surprising based on how many restaurants are spread out around greater Phoenix. However, one locally owned brand that has been serving the Valley since 1968 is opening a new location, and this location will cater to a hungry crowd inside its dining room and through its drive-through window.

Carolina’s Mexican Food, self-dubbed “The Best Tortillas in Town,” has been feeding hungry patrons around the region for almost 60 years (and has been making tortillas for longer than that). To last that long you have to be doing something right. Perhaps the homemade tortillas are that good, or it’s the impressive menu. The best Mexican restaurants in town do tend to make their salsas and tortillas in-house, so perhaps Carolina’s falls into this category. Regardless, a new, Chandler location, will have a drive-through window, making it easier than ever before to enjoy speedy Mexican food.

The new location can be visited at 1972 North Alma School Road. An exact launch date has not yet been announced, but it is supposed to open sometime before the end of the year. This is a block south of the West Warner Road intersection and is on the southern end of the Pollock Warner Plaza Shopping Center.

Up until this point, Carolina’s Mexican Food has only been located in Phoenix, Peoria, Mesa, and Glendale. The new Chandler location will make it easier for customers to stop by and enjoy their favorites.

The menu at each location is slightly different, but for the most part, you’ll find the same staple items at each, only with a few tweaks. There is a breakfast menu that includes breakfast burritos stuffed with eggs, potatoes, beans, bacon, chorizo, carne asada, and machaca. You can order handmade flour tortillas on their own (which is a great add-on to other menu items you might grab, so you can use the tortillas later in the week). The menu is also packed with tacos, taco salad, quesadillas, tostadas, plus both cooked and frozen tamales, so you can heat up and enjoy the tamales on your own at another time. Burros, tostadas, and combination plates are also staple menu items available at Carolina’s Mexican Food.
