Whether you’re a lover of Mediterranean food, are looking for something fast and easy, or just can’t get enough well-made gyros, then there’s a chance you’ve stopped off at one of the previous two Spitz restaurants that have opened around greater Phoenix in the last year. Based out of Southern California, the chain made the move to Arizona in 2023, and as the first two locations are doing so well, a third has now officially opened, bringing fresh, Mediterranean street food to Chandler.

Spitz has a rather unique history, in that while it is Mediterranean street food based in Los Angeles, neither of the owners are from California or Greece. In fact, the pair of college kids who launched the restaurant were from Utah and Minnesota, respectively. However, they wanted to bring the classic Mediterranean street food style to SoCal, which already had an appetite for other styles of street food. And with the Mediterranean widely seen as one of the healthiest options out there, it made sense to base the launch of Spitz in the region.

The restaurant brand has spread quickly, not only through California but into states ranging from Montana and Minnesota, Virginia and Texas. Arizona is one of the newest additions to the list, including the freshly opened Chandler location.

Situated at 301 South Arizona Avenue (Suite 2) in Chandler, the restaurant is open Monday through Thursday from 11 AM until 10 PM, and on Friday through Sunday from 11 AM until 1 AM.

The restaurant specializes in all things Mediterranean street food. Some of the house favorites include Street Cart Fries, Berliner Fries, Duquitos, the Doner Basket, plus all kinds of wraps, salads, gyros, plus bowls and salads.

While the restaurant does specialize in quick, healthy options, it also has a full drink menu as well, because some days you just want a nice sangria to wash down the gyro and fries. It helps transform the restaurant into more than just a quick bite-to-eat destination. So if you want a more affordable option than the heftier-priced sit-down restaurants around town, Spitz might be a viable option.

The other two Valley area Spitz restaurants can be found in Phoenix at 21001 North Tatum Blvd (open Tuesday through Thursday from 11 AM until 8 PM, on Friday and Saturday from 11 AM until 9 PM, and Sunday from 11 AM until 9 PM), and in Tempe at 681 East Apache Blvd (Suite 107) from 11 AM until 1 AM seven days a week.
