Several fantastic food events are coming up here in Tucson in the coming weeks. With the weather finally dipping below triple digits, people – both those cooking food and those enjoying it – can finally come out and enjoy the days together. While the Tucson Meet Yourself folk festival is right around the corner and takes place this weekend from Friday to Sunday, there is another food-specific event coming in the weeks to come. So, if you cannot make it to the fan-favorite Meet Yourself event, there will be another opportunity to explore the culinary scene here in the Old Pueblo.

One of the newest food events to come to greater Tucson, the Oro Valley Fall Foodie & Art Festival looks to bring local artists and food vendors together in a chance to mingle, meet, and enjoy the art of eating as well as creating. The event takes place on October 26 and 27, so the temperatures should be excellent (if not even a little cool when the sun goes down). The event won’t only be limited to traditional forms of art, but you’ll also be able to take in (and purchase), home goods, handcrafted fashion, metalwork, and all kinds of other goodies.

Located at 12155 North Oracle Road right in front of the Oro Valley Marketplace, the event is free, so unlike other food events around Tucson, you won’t have to pay to stop by and take this one in. It also runs from 10 AM until 4 PM on both days, so there are no shifting schedules.

An array of live musicians will perform, including Fox and Bones (Americana), Tesoro (Flamenco), Chris Baron & Two Secrets (Folk/Rock), Liz & Pete’s Sparrows & The Last Train (Americana), Cochise County All-Stars (Country), Sean Lewis (Pop/Rock), and The Beatle Brothers (a Beatles tribute band).

The festival itself won’t have the volume of restaurant vendors as the Tucson Meet Yourself event. The aforementioned event, which is one of the most popular in Tucson, will have nearly 60 on hand, while the Oro Valley Fall Food & Art Festival will be limited to about 20 based on space. However, that should make it far easier to figure out what you want to eat and sample everything you see. On top of this though, there will be local brews slinging crisp, fall beverages, and around 125 different artists and vendors showcasing their goods. It will make for an excellent opportunity to eat, drink, and take in local art, all without the sweltering triple-degree days.
