The West Valley is slowly pulling in more restaurants. For years, it has been a desert in more than just name, as the region has lacked stores, restaurants, and other major elements the East Valley has enjoyed since its inception. Despite the west side of greater Phoenix being one of the fastest-growing areas in the United States, businesses have been slow to follow. However, one national spicy chicken brand, which is growing almost as fast as the metro Phoenix, has decided to make the move and open a new location, pushing further west into the area.

While not as west as residents might like. Those living to the west of I-17 and South of I-10 are almost always left out of restaurant expansion (outside of maybe some spots popping up in Glendale). To help rectify this, Dave’s Hot Chicken has announced it is opening a location at 7616 South 56th Avenue in Laveen. An exact opening date has not yet been determined, as finishing touches are being placed onto the location, but in the next several months, residents of Laveen, will have an easier time stopping by and grabbing a spicy chicken sandwich.

The restaurant brand has come a long way in less than 10 years. In 2017, it was little more than a stand working out of a parking lot in East Hollywood. As word spread of the spicy chicken sandwiches, mostly thanks to social media, as well as a few celebrities speaking out about the quality of the sandwiches, the brand was able to move into a physical location. And, within a few years, Dave’s Hot Chicken has expanded throughout the United States. In fact, from Washington to Florida, and New York to Texas, it has spread like wildfire.

The menu is pretty straightforward. Especially if you want a meal order. You can grab two chicken tenders with fries, two sliders with fries, a combo of tender and slider, or a single of each. When you order your chicken, you will also be asked what level of spice you want. If you’re not feeling like anything spicy, you can go with No Spice or a Lite Mild spice option. Feeling like a little extra heat? You can take it up to Mild or even Medium. Like things really hot? There is Hot and Extra Hot. Or, if you’re one of the select few that absolutely needs the heat, you can try Reaper, which also comes with a disclaimer.
