The Biden Administration has awarded a $242 million grant through its Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to replace the aging Cape Fear Memorial Bridge in Wilmington, North Carolina. The Cape Fear Memorial Bridge, a 3,000-foot-long steel vertical-lift structure built in 1969, currently serves as a critical transportation link carrying U.S. Highways 17, 76, and 421 over the Cape Fear River, connecting Brunswick and New Hanover counties.

Mural honoring city’s Latino community unveiled in Washington
WASHINGTON, N.C. (WITN) - A colorful mural honoring part of one Eastern Carolina city’s community was unveiled Tuesday, creating a must-see location in the community. The new 3,300 square-foot mural in Washington honors and represents the city’s Latino community and culture, as well as the artist, who grew up in Puerto Rico. Georges Le Chevallier, the mural’s artist, did so by using artwork and symbols that directly correlate with the heritage.
