The Thornton Chamber of Commerce recently concluded its annual $5,000 Giveaway, which turned out to be a resounding success. The event, aimed at raising funds for its scholarship program, saw the participation of numerous community members.
Six deserving students were awarded scholarships, thanks to the generosity of the Chamber and the community. Rylie Goodman, Kayla Hewitt, Caden Hughes, Avery Samford, Madison Mccaleb, and Emalea Mccaleb each received a $1,000 scholarship, enabling them to pursue their educational aspirations.
The Chamber expressed its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who purchased tickets and contributed to the success of the fundraiser. Their support played a pivotal role in making a difference in the lives of these young individuals. Without the backing of the community, such impactful initiatives would not be possible.
In addition to the scholarships, the Chamber also awarded cash prizes. Nicki Burgeson and Devin Wilson emerged as the first, second, and third-place winners, sharing a total prize of $5,400. Their decision to split the winnings exemplifies the spirit of camaraderie and generosity.
The event was not only a fundraiser but also a celebration of unity and support within the Thornton community. It emphasized the power of collective action in creating opportunities and making a positive impact on the lives of young people.
The Chamber looks forward to continuing its mission of providing financial assistance to deserving students and is grateful for the unwavering support of the community. Such initiatives not only benefit the recipients but also contribute to the overall prosperity and vitality of the community.
