The Jonathan Hardin Chapter, NSDAR, based in Mexia, has distributed packets for the Patriots of the American Revolution Essay Contest to students in grades 9–12 at six public high schools, two Christian academies, and homeschool groups in Limestone and Freestone counties. Eligible applicants must be students from Limestone or Freestone County to participate in the local contest.
Packets were also delivered to four public libraries in the area: Gibbs Memorial Library in Mexia, Fairfield Public Library, Groesbeck Public Library, and Teague Public Library.
This is a student-written essay contest, with submissions due electronically by Friday, Nov. 8, 2024. Students interested in participating can pick up contest information from their high school counselor or the nearest public library.
The essay contest winner will be recognized at the chapter’s February meeting. Participation is encouraged!
