Dew ISD’s Board of Trustees unanimously voted on Thursday, June 6, at a called board meeting to name Mr. Kent Reynolds as Lone Finalist for the position of Superintendent. Per state law, there will be a 21-day waiting period before Reynolds can officially be hired as superintendent.

Reynolds retired from 15 years as Hallsburg ISD’s superintendent in 2021. His wife, Hollye, also retired from education as a teacher in Groesbeck ISD in 2019. They have one daughter, Hailye, who is currently serving with the U.S. Coast Guard with her husband Luke. Hailye and Luke welcomed their first daughter in January. “I am excited and honored to be named as the Lone Finalist for the next Superintendent of Dew ISD. I look forward to working with the community, staff, and board to continue the quality education for which Dew ISD is known,” Reynolds said.

The search to place Reynolds as superintendent was a partnership with Impact Education Specialists, a education consultancy group made up of former and current Texas superintendents. The board worked closely with this group to find an exceptional fit for Dew ISD who has the experience needed to lead the district. Though the search was quick, the board feels confident he is the right fit.

When asked about selecting Reynolds as Lone Finalist, School Board President, David Fowler said, “The Dew ISD is very excited and honored that Kent Reynolds is the Lone Finalist for our superintendent position. We knew the moment we met with Mr. Reynolds that with his experience, shared values, and personality, he would be a great fit for the Dew school and community!”
