Red Wings: 5 Potential Alternate Captains
Since the 2022-23 season, the Detroit Red Wings’ leadership group has remained steady without much fluctuation. Headlined by captain Dylan Larkin, the four-year captain’s alternates were all veterans brought in during free agency: Ben Chiarot, Andrew Copp and David Perron. Though a few other players wore an ‘A’ on their sweater over the last two seasons, this group of four has been entrenched as the team’s on-ice leaders.
Terrion Arnold seeing how serious Detroit Lions are about a Super Bowl
On Saturday, Detroit Lions rookies reported to training camp for the 2024 season. One of the very first things players do upon arrival is perform a conditioning test. If a player fails a conditioning test, they aren’t allowed to practice until they do. This is customary for every NFL team, but for cornerback Terrion Arnold, he learned just how tough these tests are and that the Lions mean business.
Sprong Signs With Vancouver For Half as Much
Former Red Wings forward Daniel Sprong was considered the most desirable player still in the free agent market and yet he didn’t benefit much from that status. Sprong signed with the Vancouver Canucks for one year at $975,000 — that’s a salary cut from the $2 million he earned last season with the Red Wings. Based on his 18 goals and 43 points last season, AFP Analytics projected Sprong might get a two-year deal worth $2.5 million this season.

TORONTO — Detroit Tigers outfielder Wenceel Pérez hasn't struggled through a prolonged slump in his rookie season, but that doesn't mean he hasn't been forced to make adjustments along the way to stick around in the big leagues. Red Wings Not The Stuff of Fantasy
For a team that was in the top 10 in the NHL last season in both goals scored and power-play percentage, the Detroit Red Wings certainly don’t appear to be the stuff of dreams when it comes to fantasy hockey. Though Detroit would score 275 goals last season –...

The Pivot Podcast sat down with Amon-Ra St. Brown, a two-time Pro Bowler, to talk about his upbringing in a strict but motivating household, the recent surge from the Detroit Lions, and how he has used motivation to become one of the highest-paid...
Jackson Jobe looms as Reese Olson’s injury compounds the Tigers rotation problems
Saturday’s victory over the Toronto Blue Jays continued a very good run for the Detroit Tigers in July. They’re now a game below .500 and just five games out of a wild card spot with 63 games to play. We should be feeling pretty good. Instead, Reese Olson came out of the game after two innings with what is reported as right shoulder soreness. That could be all sorts of issues from minor inflammation to a major injury that ends his season. Either way, it presents a real problem for the organization right now.
Tigers' top pitching prospect continues to dazzle
While Pittsburgh Pirates rookie All-Star Paul Skenes continues to capture the imagination of baseball fans, another top pitching prospect, Jackson Jobe of the Detroit Tigers, waits in the wings. But for how long? Already having a strong 2024 campaign, Jobe dazzled again Saturday for Double-A affiliate, the Erie SeaWolves. The 21-year-old pitched six innings of no-hit ball, posting five strikeouts while throwing 70 pitches, 49 for strikes. Pretty good day at the office for Jackson Jobe.6 IP | 0 H | 0 R | 2 BB | 5 K | 70 pitches, 49 strikes.Jake Higginbotham takes over in the seventh with...
