Drew Salyers claims title at the 103rd Ohio Open Championship
Leading up to the Fourth of July holiday weekend, Westfield Country Club was the state-wide center for Ohio golf, hosting the 103rd Ohio Open Championship. The Ohio Open, one of the oldest and most prestigious events in the state, has been won by Ohio golfing legends such as Jack Nicklaus (1956), Byron Nelson (1940-41-42), Herman Keiser (1951), Denny Shute (1929-30-31-1950), Tom Weiskopf (1965), and Billy Burke (1938-39-45-55). But, of the record total of 288 professionals (135) and amateurs (154) from throughout Ohio that entered, a new champion would join some of the game of golf’s all-time greats.
Former Ohio State Forward Keita Bates-Diop Traded to New York Knicks
Keita Bates-Diop will be in the Big Apple to begin his seventh NBA season. The former Ohio State forward was dealt from the Brooklyn Nets to the New York Knicks along with star wing Mikal Bridges and a second-round pick. In return, the Nets get Bojan Bogadanovic, Mamadi Diakite, Shake Milton, four unprotected first-round picks, an unprotected pick swap, a top-four protected first-round pick and a second-round pick.
3-star interior offensive lineman commits to UCF over Ohio State
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State’s 2025 offensive line class will have to wait for another day to grow, as three-star Andrew Stargel committed to UCF on Thursday. Stargel, the No. 1,118 overall prospect in the class and No. 82 interior offensive lineman in the class, chose the Knights over the Buckeyes and NC State.
