A New Port Richey woman was arrested for trespassing when she sat in front of Publix and refused to leave despite being asked by police. An officer responded to Publix, located at 10601 U.S. Hwy. 441 in Leesburg, regarding a suspicious person around 10:37 a.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. Dispatch advised that the caller, an employee of the business, stated 62-year-old Krystal Lynn Barnett was sitting in front of the business refusing to leave.

Deputies arrest convicted felon in Lexus with stun gun
Sumter County sheriff’s deputies arrested a convicted felon with a stun gun tucked in the door pocket of a Lexus. Tristan Michael Douglas Berry, 29, of Leesburg, was driving the white Lexus ES shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday in Center Hill when a deputy ran the license plate and discovered it had been assigned to another vehicle, according to an arrest report.
