Elderly Woman Loses $5000 in Moving Scam
A woman recently contacted the Better Business Bureau of Central New England saying she was moving from Arizona to Massachusetts when she was scammed out of almost five thousand dollars and lost all her furniture. It appears she was the victim of a moving scam. The 75 year old woman, who was no stranger to moving, was pressured into locking in a “low-ball” bid for her move. Among the red flags, the company seemed to operate under several different names, and she kept being told her move would be cancelled if she didn’t come up with more funds. The worst of it, the movers who loaded up the van with her belongings, are nowhere to be found. She moved into an empty apartment and her furniture is who knows where.

QUINCY - The state has made it clear that its emergency shelter program is at capacity. That has not stopped dozens of migrants heading to Massachusetts through any number of federal programs. Last week, the state announced it would stop allowing so-called "newcomers" to sleep at Logan Airport. In doing so, the state said families would be sent straight to emergency shelters like the one in Norfolk at the old Bay State Correctional Center. On Tuesday, WBZ-TV found dozens of people being dropped off...
