Cannabis Research Conference Scheduled For CSU
Researchers, government officials and business leaders will converge on Colorado State University next month to talk about cannabis. The eighth annual Cannabis Research Conference is set for Aug. 7-9 at the school, co-hosted by CSU-Pueblo’s Institute of Cannabis Research and the Global Hemp Innovation Center at Oregon State University. Gov. Jared Polis is expected to attend. According to the Loveland Reporter Herald, it will include more than 140 presentations from leading academics and keynote presentations by researchers in the fields of medical marijuana and hemp industrial research.
New road site construction underway on Village at Avon property
There’s a lot of earth being moved on the Village at Avon property, located between East Beaver Creek Boulevard and Interstate 70 exits 167 and 168. The plan for the area includes an influx of more residential units to complement the Piedmont apartment complex on the east end of the property, but before that can be realized, the property must include a new road on the north end of the valley floor.
Potter Volunteer Fire Department, Rescue Squad launch Cadet Program
POTTER -- Junior and High School students in the Potter/Dix School District can join the new Junior Cadet Program with The Potter Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad. The Junior Cadet Program will consist of two sections: Fire and Rescue/EMS. Students can choose to participate in one or both programs. It will run throughout the academic year, scheduling around the students’ other school programs.
