Augusta apartment complex off Richmond Hill Road sees fatal shooting
Augusta authorities are investigating a fatal shooting which took place over the weekend. Richmond County Sheriff's Office reported that deputies responded at 12:46 a.m. Saturday to The Pointe at Augusta, on the 2400 block of Acapulco Drive, in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, they found an unidentified male, who had been shot at least once, in the parking lot. Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen said in a press release that the victim was taken via EMS to Wellstar MCG (formerly known as Augusta University Medical Center) where he died at 1:23 a.m.
Arrest made in fatal beating of 28-year-old Augusta man found outside Dollar General
An arrest has been made in the violent death of a young man in Augusta last month. Richmond County Sheriff's Office this weekend issued a news release saying RCSO and the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Creston Curry, 37, on Sherman Street in Augusta on Friday for the murder and armed robbery of Elias Jkhael Delk.

Employee charged with stealing SC DMV funds
A Camden woman faces a felony charge for allegedly using state computers to steal thousands of dollars while working for the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles. SLED agents arrested Julia Haley Baker, 22. She was charged with computer crime in the first degree and booked at the Kershaw County Detention Center and will be prosecuted by the Fifth Circuit Solicitor's Office. If convicted, she could be fined up to $50,000 and/or sentenced to up to five years in prison.

Man dead after being shot in the head in west Macon, Bibb County Sheriff's Office says
MACON, Ga. — A man is dead after a shooting at a gas station in west Macon late Saturday night, according to a Bibb County Sheriff's Office press release. The release said 23-year-old RaQuavian Smith exited a Marathon Gas Station on Napier Avenue around 11:30 p.m. after gun shots were heard.

Investigators say 23-year-old RaQuavian Smith was driven to the Navicent Hospital Emergency Room by a private vehicle, where he was later pronounced deceased.
