Grundy Bank hot dog eating contest raises $6,299.73 on Friday
Grundy Bank raised $6,299.73 on Friday in its 16th annual hot dog eating contest, which featured eaters representing non-profits from all around Grundy County. Officer Alex Hernandez defeated a competitive field by eating four hot dogs compared to six second place finishers, who each ate three. 5-0, school bus racing coming to Grundy County Speedway during Friday-Saturday double header
This time, speeding is the point: 5-0 racing featuring local police driving retired police cars are coming to the Grundy County Speedway Saturday, June 15. Promoter Steve Bechtel the 5-0 racing is being done to raise money for Special Olympics, and the race will be made up of different police departments turning their retired police cars into race cars. Grundy Bank is hosting its annual hot dog eating contest starting 11 a.m. Friday at the Grundy County Courthouse lawn. Eight competitors, including Eddie Thies representing Operation BBQ Relief, Mike Urbanec, representing the United Way of Grundy County, Tyler Mann, representing Breaking Away, Chris Interial, representing the YMCA Scholarship Fund, Eric Fisher, representing We Care of Grundy County, Alex Hernandez, representing the Morris police Benevolent Society, Michael Putrich, representing the Morris Rotaract Club and Alex Clubb, representing the Morris Chiefs Football Program will be fundraising and eating as many hotdogs as they can.
