A Greenville brewery has announced it will close after six years in business.

The Eighth State Brewing Co. , 400 Augusta St., announced on social media “with a heavy heart” that its journey is coming to an end.

“We want to start by expressing our deepest gratitude for your support, business, and friendship over the past 6 years,” the post read. “During this time, The Eighth State has grown to become a cherished part of the Greenville and South Carolina bar scenes, and we couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you.”

The brewery, located a few blocks from Fluor Field in West Greenville, plans to stay open through the end of September, according to the post, adding that its remaining inventory is available for purchase.

“Thank you for letting us be a part of your lives, whether it was in person or through one of our beers from afar,” the post read. “We’ll always cherish the memories and the community we’ve built together.”
