3-week closure of Guadalupe Road section begins July 1

Guadalupe Road will be closed for three weeks beginning July 1 between Pointe Parkway and Calle Sahuaro, state transportation officials said.

The closure, from 12:01 p.m. Monday, July 1, to 5 a.m. Monday, July 22, includes the bridge over Interstate 10, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The bridge will be open to cyclists, pedestrians and equestrians.

Utility work will be taking place during the three weeks as part of the Broadway Curve improvement project.

ADOT suggests the following detours:

Westbound: Use southbound Kyrene Road to westbound Elliot Road to northbound 48th Street/Pointe Parkway to access Guadalupe Road west of the closure.

Eastbound: Use southbound 48th Street/Pointe Parkway to eastbound Elliot Road to northbound Kyrene Road to access Guadalupe Road east of the closure.
