There's family values amd then there's the Puritanical thought that women have an obligation to have children and older women have an obligation to help raise children. It shouldn't mean that grandma or an older auntie should make it a Number 1 priority to become the family's child care provider ahead of their plans for their own lives like romantic relationships, hobbies, socializing and traveling. Vance has already expressed his distaste for women who want more out of life than birthing babies and raising children and for those who want it all. He has expressed he thinks it's WRONG for women to have ambitious career aspirations where are in authority, and especially eggregious that they would choose careers over having children, and I really offend him because I never wanted children and consciously chose not to have them. He doesn't get to define our "family values" in the modern world.
