Traffic stops lead to drug arrests by Union Police, Newton County S.O.
UNION, Miss. (WTOK) - A man was arrested early Monday at a safety checkpoint at the intersection of Hwy. 15 and Hwy. 492. Officials said 47-year-old Chad Neese was driving with a suspended license, and a search of his car turned up a vial of liquid fentanyl, a syringe of what is believed to be liquid methamphetamine and strips of suboxone.
Kosciusko Tries for Federal Affordable Housing Grant
KOSCIUSKO, Miss.–Kosciusko is again applying for a federal grant that could help people who are having trouble affording housing. Mayor Tim Kyle tells Breezynews the city will try again to get the HOME Grant, which is administered by HUD, through the ten planning districts around Mississippi. He said the state gets about $3 million annually, to be divided by just a few communities.

When star running back Quinshon Judkins transferred out of Ole Miss, concerns were raised about how the team would cover the loss at the position. Current Ole Miss running back Ulysses Bentley IV may have taken fewer carries than Judkins did last season, but he was more productive than him.
