A new place to make art and sip drinks is opening in Gulfport

A new place to get a group of friends together and make art is opening in Gulfport on Monday, June 24.

Drip! Art Lounge offers various art projects to make and take, and folks can bring their own beverages to sip while they create. It’s also walk-in, so you don’t have to make an appointment.

The studio is owned by Haley Christie, who started the business in Winter Park, Florida, six years ago and has now relocated it to St. Petersburg.

Among the projects offered on the Make-It Menu are fluid painting to create marble-effect pieces, a pair of decopaged gold-dipped clam shells and watercolor postcards. Or you can just walk in and paint something on a canvas. Prices range $15-$45.

Classes planned for the opening week include how to paint a flock of flamingos, oranges and cats, and on June 29 there’s a Coffee & Canvas event from 9-10:30 a.m., during which you’ll paint a doughnut while enjoying them.

Drip! Art Lounge is located at 5142 Gulfport Blvd. It will be open from noon-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday. dripartlounge.com.
