    If you’re looking for a way to enjoy the weather while not risking heat exhaustion, an array of water parks to visit with family and friends awaits you. Here’s how to stay cool and enjoy the longest days of the year.

    Serengeti Springs

    Only an hour’s commute away from the Mississippi coast, Serengeti Springs offers 3.5 acres of land which hosts a massive aquatic jungle gym attached to the park’s nine swirling water slides (check the website for each slide’s specific height requirements ). This main attraction in addition to a 450-foot long lazy river, swim-up bar for attendees 21 years and older, tons of seating area, and plenty of fun for kids, gives options for any visitor to have their pick between fun and relaxation all day.

    Day tickets, both online and at the gate, start at $23 Monday through Thursday. For Friday through Sunday, tickets increase to $28 online and $30 at the gate.     The park’s operational hours are every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

    Gulf Island Water Park

    This Gulfport water park has a mix of both thrills and serene experiences for all ages. Their collection of slides leaves nobody left out of the slippery fun as each tube allows for a range of 1 - 3 people to go at a time. Whether you’re racing your friends on water mats, taking a spin on one of the raft adventures, or experiencing the Gulf Coast’s first and only water roller coaster, there’s aquatic fun to be had for everyone. Waivers are required for all guests but can be filled out online to save a wait in line.

    Day tickets at the gate start at $48 for attendees 42 inches and taller and $30 for those shorter than 42 inches. Children ages two and under enter free. Regular season passes start at $70, upgrading to $75 for premium passes and $90 for premium plus passes.     The daily operational hours for the water park are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., but special exceptions may cause earlier closings or for the park to stay closed that day. The water park also opens seasonally, so operational times start in late May and end in the first days of September.

    Grand Paradise Waterpark

    Some of every kind of fun awaits at Grand Paradise Waterpark in Collins. A winding lazy river to relax in, water slides to spike your adrenaline, an aquatic playground for little ones to put a spin on everyday play time, and tons of seating areas to enjoy the sun.

    Standard ticket prices for Grand Paradise are as follows:

    • 48” and taller | $32
    • Under 48” | $28
    • Military | $22
    • Seniors 60 and older | $21
    • Children 42 inches and under | Free

    Normal operation hours are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Saturdays, and 1 - 5 p.m. on Sundays.

    Buccaneer Bay

    For a calm and more passive day in the water, Buccaneer Bay in Waveland provides a wave pool experience for the whole family to enjoy. Outside of a couple of water slides and a pirate-themed water playground, the massive wave pool provides a quick way to cool off for more easygoing visitors.

    Standard ticket prices for the attractions are as follows:

    • Water slides and wave pool 48” and taller | $13
    • Water slides and wave pool under 48” | $19

    Blue Bayou Water Park

    With as many twists and turns as you can imagine, Blue Bayou Water Park gives tons of options for visitors to have fun. A thrill-filled experience to the highest degree can be found as you spiral, plunge, and race down over 15 water slides and attractions. The pirate-themed water park offers fun for all ages with a slower-paced area in Hurricane Bay where people can float around and areas for kids to play in Pirates Cove and Polliwogs N Pirates.

    Admission for guests 48” and taller starts at $55, changes for guests 48” and shorter as well senior citizens to $44, and free for guests 38” and shorter. Season pass rates and policies on rain checks as well as refunds can be found on the Blue Bayou website .

    The park’s operational hours are 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday and remain closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

    Tropic Falls at OWA

    Tropic Falls Water Park offers a half-indoor and half-outdoor water park with 23 rides and attractions available for everyone year-round. Take your pick of indoor fun on slides and the tropical play structure for kids, or go outside for the Big Water Bay wave pool, Castaway Creek lazy river, and the Coastal Curl surfing simulator. Coastal curl especially provides a unique experience for those who aspire to surf or those who just want to try out the experience.

    Admission prices are as follows:

    The park’s operational hours are from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Sunday through Thursday, 9 a.m. - 10 p.m.

    Geyser Falls

    For those days when the beach proves to be a bit too far of a trip, there’s a tropical beach excursion to visit closer than you think. At Geyser Falls, the white sand beaches and crystal clear waters make for a vacation experience without the same travel expenses. The park also features Lil’ Squirts Hollow for the younger swimmers, three different 6-story speed slides, a relaxing round-a-bout tube river, and the unique Backsplash water slide, which sends tubers backward down the slide halfway through. It’s like you’d be taking a trip to the Caribbean while only taking a ride to get there.

    Daily pass prices start at $37 Sunday through Friday and increase to $47 on Saturdays. Season passes are set at $100 and for prices for group events or cabana rentals visit the Geyser Falls website .

    The park’s operational hours are 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12 - 6 p.m. on Sundays.
