Montgomery, AL- Last week, Montgomery County Probate Judge JC Love announced a partnership with Montgomery City-County Public Library (MCCPL) to promote voter registration and voter engagement. Voter registration kiosks will be placed in each MCCPL location. “We are the first Election Center to use these types of kiosks to promote voter registration” said Judge Love. The Montgomery County Election Center first partnered with colleges and universities to help college students with a more secure way to register to vote. Voter registration kiosks are on each campus on Montgomery County. Before the kiosk, many students would register to vote through various organizations. Unfortunately, many of those organizations failed to turn in voter registration form to the Office of Secretary of State. As a result, many college students were not on voter rolls and had to complete provisional ballots during Elections. In addition to colleges and universities, voter registration kiosks are also in each high school in Montgomery County. According to Judge Love, the partnership with Montgomery County Public Schools helps engage high school students in the election process. “We are giving residents a simple and accesible way to exercise their right to vote” said MCCPL Director Zella-Ques Holmes in her remarks. Montgomery County Director of Elections Alexandria Stephens is excited about the partnership. “This partnership is a way to get voters and citizens more engaged.” The voter registration kiosks also allow you to:
    • Sign up to be a poll worker
    • View sample ballots (when available)
    • View polling locations
