    Lowndes County Area Chamber of Commerce hosts end of year meeting

    Yesterday, The Lowndes County Area Chamber of Commerce (LCACAC) hosted its last meeting of the year. One initiative that of LCACOC is to create an emergency medical service (EMS) and ambulance service provider for the county. LCACOC CEO and President Dr. O.L. Hubert, shared that a proposal for a county ambulance service is in progress. “We only have one ambulance in the entire county, and we do not have any hospitals or urgent care.” he said. According to Hubert, the chamber is proposing 4 ambulances in Lowndes County. One will serve as a back-up vehicle. The others will be stationed in Hayneville, Ft. Deposit, and White Hall. Lanisha Hall with UAB talked about The Epiphany Study, an American Heart Association funded research study conducted by the UAB Division of Preventive Medicine. The goal is to help lower rates of high blood pressure among Black men and women living in the Black Belt by reducing barriers to healthy lifestyles. https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=2m2Pxl_0qG7Zroj00 There was an awards presentation at the end of the meeting.
