    Black Belt native’s company selected by USDA to provide technical assistance to farmers and small businesses

    Alabama- In September 2023, the United States Department of Agriculture, Office of Rural Development selected Blue Phoenix Consulting to provide technical assistance to agricultural producers and rural small businesses for the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP). USDA has made $145 million in funding available for loan and grant awards through (REAP) to help agricultural producers and rural small business owners make energy efficiency improvements and renewable energy investments to lower energy costs, generate new income, and strengthen the resiliency of their operations. Funding for this program was made available through the Biden-Harris Administration’s Inflation Reduction Act.

    Blue Phoenix is a minority-owned firm that provides a plethora of services for businesses, organizations, and local governments such as organization development, strategic planning, economic development planning, and technical assistance for federal programs. The company has hit the ground running in the Black Belt, providing hard-working agricultural producers and
    rural small business owners with the information and tools necessary to reap the benefits of REAP.

    Black Belt native & Alabama A&M graduate, Samuel T. Greene, II, MURP, owner of Blue Phoenix, is eager to assist rural small business owners and agricultural producers with securing the funding necessary to run productive and energy efficient businesses. Greene previously served the Biden Administration as chief strategy officer and senior advisor for congressional affairs for the Delta Regional Authority (DRA). DRA is a federal agency that provides infrastructure investments in 8 states and 252 counties along the Mississippi River & Alabama Black Belt.
