Odenville’s Kellett Wins Phoenix Bass Fishing League Event at Neely Henry Lake
GADSDEN, Ala. (July 22, 2024) – Boater John Kellett of Odenville, Alabama, caught a five-bass limit weighing 14 pounds, 15 ounces, Saturday to win the MLF Phoenix Bass Fishing League (BFL) Presented by T-H Marine on Neely Henry Lake. Hosted by the City of Gadsden, the tournament was the fourth event of the season for the BFL Bama Division. Kellett earned $3,926 for his victory.
Gadsden State teams, athletes named to NJCAA All-Academic teams
Three Gadsden State athletic programs and a number of individual GSCC student-athletes were recently named to the National Junior College Athletic Association’s All-Academic Team for 2023-44. Student-athletes are eligible to earn academic honors by achieving an overall GPA of 3.60 or higher for the 2023-24 academic year. The criteria for the three NJCAA All-Academic teams are a 4.0 GPA for first team, a 3.80-3.99 GPA for second team and a 3.60-3.79 GPA for third team.

Two pedestrians fatally struck by vehicles in Madison this weekend
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Detectives are investigating two deadly crashes involving vehicles hitting pedestrians in the town of Madison over the weekend. One injured following incident on Willow Pointe Drive
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - One person is injured following an incident on Willow Pointe Drive in Huntsville on Sunday evening. The Huntsville Police Department said officers were dispatched to the scene in the 6600 block of Willow Pointe Drive and found one victim with a non-life-threatening injury.
